We all have people in this giant cosplay community that we look up to wether it be for their mad cosplay skillz, they’re knowledge sharing practices, their helpful and humble attitude toward humanity in general or all of the above. They range from being fellow cosplayers, to artisans with a particular focus; some are the photographers who make us cosplayers look so good, some are videographers, writers, cartoonists, public speakers…the list goes on and on. Senpai Saturday came about for us, because we think that by asking people to submit the ones who’ve inspired them for a feature, it will help bring back the level of positivity, community and camaraderie that can sometimes be overlooked or overshadowed. On the flip side, it’s not just about people raving about their Senpais, it’s also about those Senpais raving pridefully about the people they’ve helped and how far they’ve come in what ever their creative focus might be. Appreciation is a two way street, and we want to showcase ALL of it!
Senpai Saturday Submission Guidelines
- Rule #1 – We’re happy for you if you’ve decided to be your own Senpai, but for the purposes of this endeavor, you cannot submit yourself.
- Submit your Senpai by doing a small and meaningful write up (more than just two hap hazard sentences, but no more than a few short paragraphs) on why this person is your Senpai. What is it about them that inspires you? How have they helped you? This is your chance to let them know just how much they mean to you, so don’t hold back.
- Submit photos if you can, along with links to their website and social media so that we can properly showcase them and let people know where to find them.
- If your Senpai is a private person, make sure your submission for them to be showcased is something they’ve given you permission to do.
Don’t forget that we also have an Instagram account!
